Colorado Springs police search for man who drove through accident scene

Colorado Springs Police is searching for a man who blew through an accident scene while being chased by Colorado State Patrol.

Officers were working a traffic accident at S. Circle Dr. and Janitell Rd. Tuesday morning when they noticed troopers chasing a car driven by Clayton Sample. One officer had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit when they say Sample, 20, accelerated and drove directly at them.

The officer was not hurt, and Sample sped off. Officers later located the car abandoned in a neighborhood nearby.

Sample was driving a black Oldsmobile at the time of the incident. Anyone with any information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Colorado Springs Police.
