Man shot in Colorado Springs after refusing to give suspect money

Police are searching for the suspect who shot a man after he refused to give him money.

The shooting happened late Tuesday night in the 1300 block of Potter Drive. When officers arrived at the scene they found a man with a single gunshot wound. They transported him to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The victim was treated and later released.

A witness who was with the victim at the time of the shooting told police that they were walking to an apartment when they were approached by a Hispanic man. The man asked the victim for money. When the victim refused, the suspect allegedly pulled out a gun and shot him one time.

The suspect was with a white male and white female at the time of the shooting. After the victim was shot, the suspect and two parties left the scene on foot.

Police have not identified the suspect at this time.
