‘Backpack Giving Fence’ in Woodland Park offers backpacks for kids going back to school

A fence in Woodland Park is allowing kids to go back to school with a new-to-them backpack.

In a post on the Facebook Marketplace, the ‘Backpack Giving Fence’ in Woodland Park allows people to donate backpacks and for kids to take a backpack.

Amy Smith, the person who created the giving fence, hopes to open one in Colorado Springs eventually. Right now, she wants to give Teller County kids the chance to get a backpack first.

The fence is located at 1110 West Bowman Ave. in Woodland Park.
