Are people on edge after recent shootings?

With the recent shootings that have happened around the nation, many people are nervous visiting big box stores. The Denver Police Department plans to put extra security in place at specific box stores that ask for the extra help.

You can already see some of that extra security in Colorado Springs at the Walmart off 8th Street. The cameras in this Walmart parking lot have been here for years now, but with shootings at these big box stores happening more often, this may be something you begin to see more of.

But people tell us these shootings have not stopped them from coming to Walmart.

“No I’m not nervous,” said Walmart customer Bobbie Warren. “I feel like we have security. Things slip through, but I feel that I am safe enough to come to Walmart and get what I need.”

Other customers told us they were terrified to come to these big box stores, which is why they came early in the mornings.

We are still waiting to hear from Colorado Springs Police to see if more security will be placed at these big box stores, but we have not heard back yet.
