Armed men approach people in Colorado Springs demand money, cellphones
Police are investigating four separate personal robberies that happened Monday night.
Police were called to the 900 block of East Moreno Ave. just after 11:00 p.m. for reports of a personal robbery.
Further investigation revealed that the victim was outside of a house when two men approached him and demanded his wallet and cellphone. During the confrontation, one of the suspects pointed a silver handgun at the man.
While investigating the incident, officers were alerted to another personal robbery in the 900 block of East Costilla St.
The victim said he was in a vehicle waiting on a friend when he was approached by two men. One of the suspects pointed a silver handgun at him and demanded his wallet and cellphone.
The suspects left the area in an unknown direction.
Police have not said if the two incidents are related.
A few hours earlier, a woman stated she was sitting on the curb in the 1700 block of Briargate Blvd. when a dark 4-door sedan pulled up to her. Two men exited the vehicle and pointed a silver handgun to her head and demanded her purse and cellphone. A third suspect was driving the vehicle at the time of the confrontation.
A short time later, at around 10 p.m., another woman was robbed at gunpoint in the 6500 block of Baytree Grove. The suspect described in the previous incident fit the description.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
No one was injured during the personal robberies.
