Air Force Academy cadet dismissed after pleading guilty to assault

An Air Force Academy cadet will spend eight months in confinement and then he’ll be discharged from the service after he pleaded guilty to assault Tuesday.

Andrew Hong pleaded guilty to assault and two specifications of assault consummated by battery. He was originally sentenced to 12 months confinement plus fines, but he’ll serve eight months as part of the plea agreement.

According to The Gazette, Hong kissed a female and groped her while she was unconscious.

The Air Force Academy didn’t say when the offense occurred or where it happened.

Hong will be discharged and will have a federal conviction on his record. A photo of Hong wasn’t made available.
