Normal operations resume at Peterson AFB after report of suspicious object cleared
The gates were temporarily closed at Peterson Air Force Base and the base exchange was also evacuated Monday evening following a report of a suspicious object.
The base said that the security forces squadron responded to a call of a suspicious object. Upon inspection, they determined that the object was not a threat and had been misidentified.
A representative from the base told KRDO that their first responders take every threat seriously to ensure the safety of the Airmen and their families.
The incident was cleared at about 6:45 p.m.
Several KRDO viewers have reached out saying that family members told them they were rushed out of the BX by security.
As of 6:50 p.m., traffic was allowed in and out of base. An all-clear has been given to resume normal activities.
