2 Men hospitalized after shootout in Colorado Springs

Two men were taken to the hospital Sunday afternoon after a shootout in southeast Colorado Springs.

Witnesses had called police after they witnessed two vehicles shooting at each other as they were driving eastbound off the MLK Bypass and onto Fountain Blvd.

One vehicle crashed during the incident and police were able to locate a man in the vehicle, and two other men in the neighborhood just south of the crash. Two of the men were carrying firearms.

Officers transported two of the men to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries that appear to be caused by the crash and not from the shots being fired.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident and potential charges are pending. The second vehicle involved has not been located and is described as a white Chrysler sedan.
