UPDATE: Victim identified in motorcycle crash on N. Academy in Colorado Springs
Update: The motorcycle driver has been identified as 39-year-old Ehren Schultze of Colorado Springs. The preliminary investigation suggests that Schultze was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, says CSPD.

One man is dead after crashing his motorcycle in Colorado Springs.
The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. Monday, in the 1400 block of N. Academy Blvd. near San Miguel St. Colorado Springs Police tell KRDO Newschannel 13 that the man was traveling northbound when he failed to negotiate a curve, struck a curb, and was thrown from his motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
As of right now, it’s unclear if the victim was wearing a helmet. Investigators with the Major Accident Team are looking into whether speed played a role in this crash.
This is the 25th traffic-related fatality on Colorado Springs roads this year. Twenty-six fatal crashes were reported at this time last year when the previous record was surpassed.
