Rockies call up Yonder Alonso

The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have selected the contract of infielder Yonder Alonso from Triple-A Albuquerque. Alonso,32, was signed by the Rockies as a Minor League free agent on July 10 after being released by the Chicago White Sox on July 3 . In nine games with Albuquerque, he batted .419 (13-for-31) with three doubles, one triple, two home runs, 12 RBI , five walks and six strikeouts. He will wear #13. Alonso Stats

Additionally, the Rockies have designated right-handed pitcher Seunghwan Oh for assignment and optioned right-hander Yency Almonte to Triple-A Albuquerque.
