Cynthia Sandoval, who fled police in Alamosa with her newborn baby, is believed to still be in the Alamosa area.

Sandoval, 30, is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weights about 135 pounds. Law enforcement described her as white/Hispanic with brown eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing a black jacket and camouflage sweat pants while leaving Alamosa Hospital with her baby in a late model, gold colored Chrysler Imperial.

The baby girl, Leah Sandoval, was born overnight at Sandoval’s home in Blanca. Social services checked on the child at home and asked the mother to take the child to a hospital in Alamosa. Sandoval initially complied but than evaded social services at the hospital.

Sandoval is a known narcotics user, according to the Blanca Police Department.

The baby was last seen wearing a pink and white outfit in a blue and gray car seat.
