Worker in fatal Cog Railway UTV crash identified

The five people involved in a UTV crash Friday on the Broadmoor Pikes Peak Cog Railway were all construction workers, and we’ve learned the name of the man killed in that incident.

Colorado State Patrol says 52-year-old William Waring of Colorado Springs was killed in the crash. Investigators are still working to figure out exactly what happened on that evening.

Stacy and Witbeck, Inc. confirmed all five people involved were construction workers for the company. The other four passengers on the UTV were injured. Troopers say one of them was seriously hurt at the time of the crash. That victim’s current condition is unclear.

First responders were called to the scene near Ruxton Ave. in Manitou Springs just before 6 p.m. Friday. The scene was still active for hours into Friday night.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
