Two men arrested after shots fired from car in Colorado Springs

Two people are taken into custody after an El Paso County sheriff’s deputy caught one of them firing shots from a car.

This happened just before 1 a.m. Sunday, in the 4300 block of Barnes Rd. in Colorado Springs. The deputy witnessed a man shooting off a handgun from the passenger side of the car.

Several Colorado Springs Police officers assisted in the subsequent traffic stop. Both the driver and the passenger were arrested without incident. The driver was cited for driving under the influence while the passenger could face charges related to the shots that were fired.

At this time it does not appear anyone was hurt. The suspects’ names have not yet been released.
