Flash flooding a concern once again today – 7/22/19
TODAY: Clouds will be seen over the Eastern Plains this morning with sunshine closer to I-25 and the front range. Before the storms develop, highs will climb to the 70s and 80s around the region. Storms pop-up anytime after 2 p.m. and will drop to the southeast through the evening drive — with hail, heavy rain and flash flooding being threats today.
A tornado warning was issued for areas near the Sangre de Cristo mountains, and a funnel cloud was spotted over Westcliffe at about 4 p.m.
TONIGHT: Storms will end, and we are left with partly cloudy skies and some muggy air. Lows cool to the 50s and 60s.
EXTENDED: Daily chances for showers and storms are in the forecast over the next 7 days. Highs will get back to the 80s and 90s with 70s in the mountains.
