Police identify victims in shooting near Jack Swigert Aerospace Academy
The two men who were killed following a shooting in the field at Jack Swigert Aerospace Academy in Colorado Springs were identified Wednesday.
The shooting happened early Saturday morning near 300 N. Murray Blvd.
One of the victims died at the scene, and another died later at the hospital. The El Paso County Coroner’s Office identified the victim found at the school as 18-year-old Kevin Santana-Villa, and the victim who died at the hospital was 22-year-old Diego Cruz-Aceves. Both men are from Colorado Springs.
Police said “two groups were involved in an altercation” on the track, and then shots were fired.
CSPD is still investigating the case as a homicide, but no suspects have been identified.

Two men are dead following a shooting in east Colorado Springs early Saturday morning.
Officers responded to the 300 block of North Murray Blvd. just before 5 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers found a deceased man on the track field of Jack Swigert Aerospace Academy.
A second man with serious injuries was found in the 4000 block of East Bijou St. He was transported to the hospital where he later passed away.
Further investigation revealed that the men were involved in an altercation on the track of the Jack Swigert Aerospace Academy, during the altercation shots were fired.
The incident is being investigated as a homicide.
