Tonight: Scattered showers and thunderstorms across the I-25 corridor are likely this evening with the biggest concerns being the occasional lightning strike and gusty outflow winds. The overall severity of the storms will be low. Gradually becoming mostly clear overnight with temperatures down to 60 for Colorado Springs.
Sunday: Morning sunshine will once again boost temperatures into the low 90’s for El Paso County, HWY 50 locations will be approaching triple digits for the fourth day in a row. Afternoon scattered showers and thunderstorms will again develop in the higher elevations and cross over into the valley by mid-afternoon. Similar to today with lightning and strong wind gusts being the biggest players, hail threat is low.
Extended: Thankfully this heat wave Colorado has been in will come to an end. Temperatures back to average to start off the week, low to mid 80’s all week long. The classic trend of morning sunshine with afternoon scattered thunderstorms will be something to keep an eye on if you have outdoor plans.
