UPDATE: Police say brother fatally shot sister at UC Health Memorial
Colorado Springs police gave an update on the murder-suicide that took place Saturday at UC Health Memorial and said the two people involved were siblings.
The shooting happened inside the hospital at about 1 p.m. Saturday. Police responded and found two people dead. No other suspects were involved, according to CSPD.
The victim was identified as 74-year-old Victoria Ocheretinsky. Police said the shooter was identified as 72-year-old Yuzef Ocheretinsky, who was found dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Investigators say the two were siblings and that Victoria was a patient at the hospital when the shooting occurred. CSPD says Yuzef is a resident of El Paso County, and online records list an address for him in Security-Widefield.
We’re working on getting more information about what possibly led up to the killing.
