Heavy rain and flash flooding concerns – 6/5/19

TODAY: Mostly cloudy skies are in the forecast for Southern Colorado today, with increasing chances for rain south of Highway 50 during the late morning hours. This rain lifts north through the daytime and will bring the chance for burn scar flash flooding and even urban areas. Flash flood watches are out through tonight over the southern mountains due to that threat. Some of our storms today could also produce hail and gusty winds. Highs will be in the 70s and 80s with 50s and 60s over the mountains.

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy. A few showers and storms linger through midnight. Lows cool to the 40s and 50s again.

EXTENDED: More scattered showers and storms are in the forecast for Thursday and Friday before we dry out on Saturday. Saturday looks like the best day over the next 7, with highs in the 80s and 90s along with sunshine.
