Following President Trump on his journey to Air Force Academy graduation
President Donald Trump arrived in Colorado Springs in style Thursday. His motorcade stopped traffic as he made his Falcon Stadium, and hundreds gathered along the street to see him pass by.
A snowy Pikes Peak welcomed President Donald Trump and Air Force One into the Olympic City. Trump arrived fashionably late to Peterson Air Force Base, with the aircraft touching ground just before 10:30 a.m.
He took his first steps off Air Force One to the sound of supporters cheering and made sure to shake hands with both city and military leaders.
His greeting was forced to be quick as the motorcade full of secret service and police waited to escort him to Falcon Stadium.
People lined the streets both on and off the Peterson Air Force base, going from Powers Boulevard to Fountain Blvd., then to I-25 and North Gate.
Along the way, many tried to catch a glimpse of the Commander in Chief, holding flags, signs and their cell-phones to capture picture and video.
But once at the graduation ceremony, the cheers only continued as President Trump vowed to shake every single cadet’s hand.
Though his visit was short, it’s one that will undoubtedly be an important moment for both cadets and their families.
