Body of 18-year-old man found in Pueblo ditch
The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office recovered a body from Bessemer Ditch near Stone Road in eastern Pueblo County Monday afternoon.
The body was later identified as 18-year-old Ezekiel Fresquez. Fresquez, who is from Pueblo, was found lying face down in knee-high water. The dive team with the Sheriff’s Office was called in and pulled him out.
Fresquez’s family has been notified.
Authorities say there were no physical signs of trauma, but the body was covered in a layer of soot and mud and could have been in the water for more than a day.
The coroner will conduct an autopsy on Wednesday to determine the cause of death.
