Motorcyclist dies in Chaffee County after deer enters roadway

A Colorado motorcyclist has died from a crash in Chaffee County after a deer ran into the roadway.

Colorado State Patrol is investigating the crash that involved two vehicles and wildlife. They say Michael Conway from Westcliffe, Colorado was riding his motorcycle westbound on Colorado 50 near milepost 214 when a deer entered the roadway causing Conway to lock his brakes.

They say Conway lost control and was ejected from his seat. He then collided into the side of a camper being pulled heading eastbound. Conway was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

CSP says Conway was wearing a helmet. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected as factors in the crash.
