Calmer Evening Ahead 5-26-19

Tonight: Any showers and thunderstorms will come to an end and with the air drying out we should remain mostly clear through the night. Expect breezy conditions at times over and near the mountains with low temperatures in the 40s to near 50 for the plains, mainly 30s to lower 40s over the mountains.

Extended: Memorial Day looks a little cooler, windy and dry across the area with high temperatures in the70s to lower 80s for the plains, mainly 60s over the mountains. The air should cool noticeably Tuesday with high temperatures falling into the 40s and 50s around the Pikes Peak Region, 50s and 60s along and south of the Arkansas River. The wind will remain pretty strong on Tuesday and there will be a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms (possibly even a little morning snow on the higher terrain) over mainly northern and western parts of our coverage area through Tuesday night. Wednesday may remain a bit cool but the air should warm gradually through the rest of next week with Friday looking to be the warmest day with high temperatures possibly reaching the 80s and 90s for the plains. We’ll continue to be windy at times and we’ll expect mainly spotty afternoon and evening shower and thunderstorms to be possible for various areas each day.
