One injured after reported shooting at home on Fort Carson

Fort Carson investigators are looking into a reported shooting that prompted a lockout at the Post Exchange and a nearby school Wednesday.

The shooting was reported around 1:20 p.m., but Fort Carson officials said “this is not an active shooter situation.”

One person was taken to a hospital off the post for medical care, according to Fort Carson. The person has “non-life threatening injuries.”

Officials say an altercation inside a home led to the incident. No other details have been given, and it’s not clear if anyone is in custody.

There is no danger to the community, according to the post.
