WEATHER ALERT: Spring snow & rain – 5/9/19
TODAY: Rain and snow will be seen through the Pikes Peak Region for much of the morning before tapering off around lunch time. A few hit and miss showers are posible through the first part of the afternoon, before a secondary wave of moisture moves in for the evening drive. This will make for a wet commute and will likely create slushy, higher elevation roads by early tomorrow morning. Highs today warm into the 30s and 40s.
TONIGHT: A freeze watch is out for parts of Southern Colorado tonight as temperatures could dip below 32 degrees. Be ready to protect tender plants and outdoor gardens. A wave of snow pushes through during the overnight likely producing some more minor accumulation.
EXTENDED: Snow clears out and a few thunderstorm chances remain for the rest of the week. Warmer, drier weather arrives just in time for Mother’s Day. Look for sunshine and highs in the 60s and 70s.
