Stormy afternoon ahead – 5/6/19

TODAY: High thin cloud cover will be on the increase through the first half of the day before some stormy weather moves in later. Anytime after 2PM, scattered showers and storms start to develop, especailly southeast in Colorado. Some closer to the Kansas border could produce some large hail and gusty winds. The Pikes Peak Region has the chance for an isolated strong to severe storm today. Highs will be warming into the 70s and 80s.

TONIGHT: Stray shower or storm. Otherwise mostly cloudy to partly cloudy with lows in the 40s.

EXTENDED: The long range forecast brings chances for scattered showers and storms each day into next weekend. A big cool down is also expected by Thursday as temps fall to the 30s and 40s again. By this point, some of those showers and storms could mix with snow over the mountains. We warm up and dry out again by Sunday.
