Woman arrested after attempting to run people over at Colorado Springs hotel
Police arrested a woman after she hit a juvenile and rammed into parked cars with her SUV late Wednesday night.
Officers were called to a hotel just north of the Broadmoor World Arena for reports of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers arrested Erin Batiste after people in the area detained her as she attempted to run over a hotel employee and guest.
It was later discovered that Batiste had hit a juvenile with a vase and then got into her car and began to ram into parked cars, one of which contained a family with a 3-year-old child.
Batiste also removed eggs and bleach from her car and began throwing it at hotel guests.
Police report that Batiste was not staying at the hotel and none of the victims had seen her before. It was later determined that Batiste was driving a stolen SUV.
It is unclear at this time what caused Batiste to commit these crimes.
