KRDO, NWS teaming up to train certified weather spotters in southern Colorado
You can become a certified Skywarn weather spotter in just two hours on Monday, and those skills can help save lives.
The National Weather Service in Pueblo is teaming up with KRDO’s Chief Meteorologist Merry Matthews to help teach and train members of the public who would like to be an active part of helping our communities stay safe during inclement weather.
We’ll be at Grace Community Church in Falcon starting at 6 p.m. on Monday, May 6. Eastern El Paso County has already seen a tornado touch down this year, and storms will pick up in frequency this summer.
SKYWARN is a volunteer program with between 350,000 and 400,000 trained severe weather spotters. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the National Weather Service.
You are our eyes and ears when severe weather strikes! Please join us on Monday!
Grace Community Church is located at 9475 Grace Church View. There are about 150 seats available.
