Woman drives away with car in Colorado Springs, 72-year-old man in backseat
Police are investigating an incident where a woman unlawfully entered a truck and drove away with the vehicle while a man was in the backseat.
The incident happened around 1:42 a.m. Monday near the Citadel Mall. A woman hired to assist in tearing down Ring and Ring Inc. carnival equipment unlawfully entered a truck and sped off.
Soon after the woman left, the owner of the vehicle realized a 72-year-old man was inside warming up. The owner called the man and while speaking with him, the victim told the woman to stop and pull over.
The suspect drove the truck northbound and parked near the intersection of Agate Drive and Sussex Lane.
The truck was recovered and the elderly man was not injured.
The investigation is ongoing.
