Educator accused of taking gun to school, threatening staff
An administrator at a suburban Denver high school has been arrested after allegedly bringing a handgun to the school and threatening other staff members.
The Aurora Sentinel reported Friday that 30-year-old Tushar Rae was arrested on charges of carrying a concealed weapon at a school and making violent threats.
No phone number could be found for Rae. He is dean of instruction at Aurora West College Preparatory Academy.
Court records say that during a meeting with the school principal Wednesday, Rae took a gun from his waistband, placed it on a countertop and threatened to shoot two school administrators. The records say Rae and the principal had argued the day before.
The principal left and placed the school on lockdown. Rae was arrested later Wednesday at his Denver home.
