Police respond to fatal crash in east Colorado Springs
Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened in east Colorado Springs as a vehicular homicide.
One man is dead following the crash Wednesday morning on Maizeland Rd. east of Academy Blvd.
The man was driving a Cadillac and was stopped at the intersection waiting to make a lefthand turn when a black SUV crashed into him.
Police say speed is a contributing factor in the crash. A woman was driving the SUV and was transported to a local hospital. Police are looking into if alcohol played a role in the crash.
Both lanes of Maizeland Rd. were closed between Academy and Dunbarton Ln. Wednesday morning.
Wold Ave.was also closed in the area.
