13-year-old buys car for his mother
A 13-year-old boy in Nevada saw videos on YouTube of people buying their mothers cars, and despite only having an Xbox and some money from cutting lawns, he was able to get a car for his mom.
Krystal Preston lives in Fernley, Nevada, with three dogs and three kids, including her oldest son, William, according to ABC affiliate KOLO-TV. She has been working to make ends meet with no means of transportation.
William was on Facebook and saw a woman selling a 1999 white Chevrolet Metro. He negotiated with the seller and scored a trade for the car.
William told his mom he got her a car, but “she didn’t believe me,” he told KOLO. That’s when they walked outside and met the seller, who drove them to the car and gave them the keys and paperwork.
“I lost it, I bawled, I was just like, ‘there’s no way,'” Krystal told KOLO.
Preston posted about the generous gift on Facebook, and it has since been noticed by news outlets across the country. But William says he didn’t do it for the publicity.
“What 13-year-old buys their mom a car? I don’t know any,” Krystal said. “I can’t even express it, there are no words that can express my gratitude and how proud I am.”
