Man dies while in custody at Fremont County Detention Center
The Fremont County Investigations Unit and the Colorado Bureau of Investigations is looking into an in-custody death that happened at the Fremont County Detention Center.
Officials identified the victim as 48-year-old Christopher Michael Apodaca, who was taken into custody on Friday for multiple charges.
The death happened Monday morning. An autopsy is scheduled to determine Apodaca’s official cause of death. No foul play or suspicious circumstances are suspects at this time, the sheriff’s office said.
