50-year-old man dies in Park County crash

A 50-year-old man from Denver is dead following a crash on Colorado 285 near milepost 227 in Park County.

Troopers have yet to release the man’s name. He was traveling northbound when he went abruptly went into the southbound lane and off the road.

The vehicle collided with a delineator post then continued off-road and traveled airborne before its front crashed through a tree and then collided with a second tree. The vehicle then came to a rest in an embankment.

The man was wearing a seatbelt, but suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Colorado State Patrol reports, alcohol and/or drug use is not suspected as a contributing factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
