Sam’s Sunday evening forecast
Tonight: The light rain/snow showers in southern Colorado will slowly but surely taper off overnight tonight. Any snow accumulation will be minimal and in the mountains. Most of the winter weather advisories for the Sangre’s and San Juan’s expire at midnight tonight. Low temperatures reaching to about 24 in Colorado Springs with most of SE Colorado into the 20’s tonight.
Monday: Starting off the week on a dry note. Sunshine in the morning will help us warm quickly through the early afternoon into the mid 50’s. Increased cloud coverage will limit our high temperatures, but still comfortable with light winds.
Extended: Tuesday is looking similar to Monday in that Colorado Springs will stay dry with temperatures in the high 50’s. Confidence starts to dwindle for Tuesday afternoon/evening. Snow showers will start up in the high country during the afternoon with moisture stretching out of the mountains in northern Colorado towards Denver by approximately 9pm. Precipitation type will depend on where you are. Denver will see rain, with the Monument area getting a mix. No snow accumulation is expected across the I-25 corridor. Colorado Springs will likely be too far south to receive that round of precipitation Tuesday night. We won’t be so fortunate on Wednesday. Widespread afternoon showers and scattered thunderstorms are likely. If there’s a day to avoid being outside, that day is Wednesday.
