Woman hospitalized after crashing into concrete culvert in Cheyenne County

A woman sustained life-threatening injuries after crashing into a concrete culvert two miles east of Cheyenne Wells Tuesday afternoon.

Colorado State Patrol reports, Emily Caricato of Manhattan Kansas, was driving a black 2010 Nissan Murano when she traveled over 444 feet off the roadway and collided with a concrete culvert.

Caricato’s vehicle rolled counterclockwise into a fence before coming to a rest on the roof.

Caricato was the only person in the vehicle and she was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. She was transported via Flight for Life to Swedish in Denver with life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol and drugs are not considered a cause of the crash.
