Former Colorado Governor announces 2020 White House run
Former Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper has announced he’ll seek the Democratic nomination for the 2020 presidential election.
Hickenlooper announced his candidacy in a video called “Stand Tall”, that was released Monday morning. You can view that video here. It highlights Hickenlooper’s accomplishments as a small business owner, then as mayor of Denver, then as governor of Colorado.
In a press release, Hickenlooper said “I’ve proven again and again I can bring people together to produce the progressive change Washington has failed to deliver.”
Hickenlooper will appear on Good Morning America around 6:30 Monday morning. On Thursday he’ll hold a kick-off rally in Denver, then spend two days meeting with voters in Iowa. On Sunday he’ll travel to Austin, Texas, to speak with BuzzFeed reporters at the South by Southwest festival.
