Weather Alert Day: Snow and rain – 2/22/19

TODAY: We will see the chance for some early morning snow showers west of I-25, but everyone along and east of the I-25 cooridor is looking quiet until the late morning and lunch hour. By this point in the day, a few snow showers will be falling through our mountain cities and over the southern mountains. Rain and snow picks up for the evening commute along I-25 and will push east through the evening. Higher elevation areas in Springs will see best chances for all snow, with rain and snow in Pueblo and out east. Watch out for icy roads during the evening drive tonight. Winter storm watches are out for the eastern plains due to the potential for heavy, late night accumulation.

TONIGHT: Snow will be ongoing around Southern Colorado, making for slick overnight driving and a few areas of reduced visibility.

EXTENDED: Snow clears out for everyone by noon and we are left with minor to moderate accumulation. 1-3″ is likely along the Palmer Divide and in Teller County, with a trace to 2 for Colorado Springs, Pueblo and Canon City. 2-4″ is likely over the southern mountains with a widespread 2-5+” out over the plains. There is still a lot of forecast uncertainty for the eastern plains, so please stay with us for updates! The rest of the weekend and into next week looks beautiful. Highs will be in the 50s under sunshine.
