Air Force Academy cadet accused of making pornography of 17-year-old

The U.S. Air Force Academy says an Article 32 hearing will take place Monday for a cadet accused of making pornographic content of a 17-year-old.

According to a news release, Cadet 3rd Class John-Paul Thompson is accused of violating the Uniform Code of Military Justice on three counts: failure to obey a non-contact order, sexual assault, and knowingly and wrongfully producing “child pornography of a 17-year-old.”

The Article 32 hearing is similar to a grand jury, and the AFA says “the primary role of the hearing is to determine if probable cause exists to support the charge and its specifications.”

It’s not clear if the victim is also a cadet at the Academy. Colorado Springs Police haven’t issued a statement on Thompson’s alleged crimes.
