Snow Chances by Friday 2-21-19

TONIGHT: Partly to mostly cloudy skies are in the forecast. A few snowflakes or snow showers are likely west of I-25. Lows will be dropping to the teens and 20s.

FRIDAY: Increasing clouds across all of southern Colorado with moisture chances increasing through the afternoon yielding some snow to begin falling;however, accumulations do not look favorable until the evening and overnight hours. Accumulations will stay light for the Pikes Peak region (1*-3″) and snow will taper off by early Saturday afternoon. The eastern Plains will likely get rain showers first and then snow change changing over into the overnight hours and into early Saturday morning. Heavier bursts of snow are likely from La Junta to Lamar but the big component will be winds gusting 55mph or higher yielding reduced visibility beginning Friday night into Saturday morning.

WEEKEND: Snow tapers off by the early afternoon with temps hovering into the 30’s. Sunday we will return to sunshine and milder temps in the mid 40’s
