Day two of a winter weather advisory leads to another slick morning commute
p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica; color: #454545} Icy road conditions made for another tough morning commute Tuesday, and some drivers got off to a rough start.
As the snow continued to fall and covered the roads, it was the ice that’s hiding underneath it that people were worried about.
“My all-wheel drive, my wheels were spinning, so there is a lot of black ice and that black ice is deceiving,” said one driver.
And some people are even saying that due to the ice, the roads are worse than yesterday. Because of the icy conditions, most schools were on a two-hour delay which one parent said was much needed.
“It’s just for the safety of the kiddos, I wouldn’t want to be driving a bus. the main roads are okay because they are just wet but, you know they could be icy in spots because it’s so cold,” said John Barletta.
Plows have been out all morning as the main roads continue to improve. However, secondary roads remained snow-covered.
