UPDATE: Powers back open after Springs police arrest attempted murder suspect
Powers Boulevard is back open in Colorado Springs after heavy police presence in the area following the arrest of an attempted murder suspect.
The suspect hasn’t been identified yet, but police say to avoid the area between Galley and Platte Ave. The southbound lanes were shut down as of about 11:15 a.m.
Police had to use several marked patrol cars to crash into the suspect and get him to stop. At least one officer suffered minor injuries.
There are “multiple scenes” active, according to CSPD. The lanes will be closed for several hours.
A video by KRDO viewer Lissette Mena showed the officers corner the suspect on Powers.
