Cooler, clearing clouds – 2/15/19

TODAY: Your Friday morning starts with a Weather Alert in Southern Colorado. That is thanks to some snow and freezing drizzle that moved through last night. Low clouds and fog will be a big part of the weather story early on, along with slick spots west of I-25. We will see slow clearing during the afternoon today and should become breezy, especially west of the interstate. West winds will help to flush some of that cold air out of the front range, so our highs will warm into the 30s, 40s and low 50s.

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cold. Lows cool to the teens and 20s around the region.

EXTENDED: High country snow will be ongoing during the daytime on Saturday and some of those showers will likely spill over into Teller County and higher terrain areas of Colorado Springs. Strong west winds mean its a wind alert day, and dry skies east of I-25. Cooler air and low clouds will be pushing in on Sunday and snow showers pick up Sunday night and into Monday. Monday brings widespread snow which will likely cause accumulation and travel issues. We will keep you updated.
