The Army turns to rap music to try and recruit more Generation Z soldiers
The Army is revamping its recruiting system for future soldiers after the program missed the 2018 recruiting goal for the first time in more than a decade.
According to Stripes.com, the service is turning to rap music to try and strike the interest of Generation Z. In a three-minute long, Army-produced music video, Army recruiters Sgt. 1st Class Arlondo Sutton and Sgt. 1st Class Jason Locke expressed their Army experiences to the world through a rap posted Friday.
Along with the lyrics, the video also showed clips of soldiers in action doing things like preparing to jump from a plane, fast-roping out of an airborne helicopter, toting M4, and sniper rifles and handling military police dogs.
Through the video titled, “Giving All I Got,” the pair talks about the skills, leadership, and other opportunities they have achieved through The U.S. Army.
