Locals help Colorado Springs veteran save dog from Afghanistan

A veteran from Colorado Springs rescued a dog in Afghanistan but after a turn of unfortunate events, he needs your help bringing the dog to the U.S.

Rick Arellano is a 27-year veteran of the Army and Air Force working security in Afghanistan. He found the dog, affectionately named Affie, and got him cleaned up and ready to go after falling in love.

Arellano paid for an expensive trip to take Affie to quarantine before flying back to the U.S., but the dog somehow got loose.

They were able to find the dog thanks to some sweet military technology, but now they’re faced with paying another round of fees to get the dog to the U.S.

Arellano set up a GoFundMe account for donations to get Affie home. It can be found HERE.
