UPDATE: Police arrest wanted, dangerous fugitive in northeast Colorado Springs
Update: The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office located Joshua Johnson and took him into custody Friday morning.

Police encouraged people in the area of 5400 N. Nevada Ave. take shelter and ensure windows and doors were locked Friday morning.
Officers were searching for a possible armed and dangerous fugitive in the area.
With assistance from the Colorado Springs Police Department, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office was attempting to locate Joshua Johnson who fled from deputies in the area of 5400 N Nevada Ave.
Johnson is described as a white male, 6’2″, 160 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes. If you see him, do not approach him and immediately call 911.

An emergency message was sent through Everbridge to shelter in place.
Police officers at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs said there was no threat to the campus and the community remains safe.
