I-25 down to one lane overnight for widening project
Colorado drivers heading north or south on I-25 through Monument had to add some extra time to their drive because of the gap widening project.
Both northbound and southbound I-25 between exit 161 and 167 were down to only one lane from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. so crews could work on the project. It led to bumper to bumper traffic but did not create too many problems for drivers.
The $350 million project is set to be completed by 2022. Bob Wilson the spokesperson for CDOT says this will probably be the last time we see a closure like this until after the holidays. Drivers saying they are upset by the lane closures and traffic but say it is necessary to make Colorado roads more efficient.
