Two people shot at home in Las Animas County, one dead, three arrested

One person is dead and another injured after they were shot in Las Animas County. Authorities now have three suspects in custody.

19-year-old Armando Gallegos died at a Colorado Springs hospital from his injuries. The unidentified woman was taken to the hospital with injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening.

The Las Animas County Sheriff’s Office says both were shot in their Weston home in the 17000 block of County Rd.18.6 Saturday afternoon.

After the shooting, three people were detained following a traffic stop in Las Animas County. They are known to the victims and could be connected to the shooting.

On Sunday the Sheriff’s Office announced those three suspects have been charged and arrested. 20-year-old Oscar Botello-Serrano faces charges of first-degree murder, assault, attempt to commit murder and conspiracy. Deputies also have Aleesha Duran and John Michael Kindle in custody, both charged with accessory to murder.
