Suspect identified in fatal shooting by Colorado officer following single-vehicle crash
UPDATE: The 7th Judicial Critical Incident Investigative Team continues to investigate the officer-involved shooting that happened Thursday, November 22nd in Gunnison County.
Police say Colorado State Patrol (CSP) officer Sgt. Joshua Boden was called near Colorado State Highway 135 near mile marker 23 around 4:00 p.m. Thursday after a report of a one-vehicle accident.
The 7th Judicial Critical Incident Investigate Teams says that’s when Sgt. Boden was met by Patrick Michael Langhoff, 59, who presented a handgun at the officer. Langhoff was later shot during the incident and pronounced dead at the scene.
Sgt. Boden, who has been with Colorado State Patrol since 2005 was placed on paid administrative leave. The investigation remains ongoing. We will continue to keep you updated as more information becomes available.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is investigating after a Colorado State Patrol officer fatally shot someone at the scene of a one-vehicle crash in western Colorado.
The CBI says the crash was reported just after 4 p.m. Thursday on State Highway 135 just south of Crested Butte.
Officials have not said what led to the shooting. The suspect died at the scene. The victim’s name has not been released.
