One man dead following shooting at Runyon Lake in Pueblo

The Pueblo Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting at Runyon Lake.

Officers say a 17-year-old man was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds around 9:30 p.m. Thursday, where he was later pronounced dead. The victim’s identity has not yet been released.

The investigation has revealed that a shooting had taken place near a parking lot at Runyon Lake, after some sort of disturbance had occurred between people in two separate vehicles. The suspect left the scene in one vehicle, and the victim was taken to the hospital in the other.

The suspect was later arrested. His identity has not yet been released.

After interviews and further investigation, it was determined that said juvenile male had shot the victim. The juvenile male was booked into the Pueblo Youth Services Center on the charge of Juvenile in Possession of a Firearm. Additional charges related to the homicide are still being considered.
