Colorado Springs family reunited with missing service dog

A Colorado Springs family has been reunited with a missing service dog.

Scout was reunited with his owner six days after going missing. The public reached out to share both Scout and his owner Matt’s story to help reunite them.

According to a Colorado Springs lost pets Facebook page, the dog was stolen, but decided to do the right thing by returning Scout. They say the person did not want a reward and did not want to discuss the situation.

Scouts owners reached out to thank to the community for their help during this incredibly hard time. They say they are very thankful to have a happy ending.

A Colorado Springs family is looking to locate a missing service dog they fear could have possibly been stolen.

The dog was last seen on October 6th near Cheyenne Blvd and Fenmoor Pl. The owner believes a friend did not close the properties gate, causing the dog to escape.

The dog responds to the name “Scout” and is a red and white husky who was last seen wearing a bright red service vest.

For the past two years, Scout has been a loyal companion and helper to Matt, a male who suffers from Asperger’s, PTSD, and generalized panic disorder.

Matt’s family describes Scout as his literal life-line, helping him achieve major steps in order to better help manage his disabilities.

He has asked for donations for up to $70 to help print and distribute fliers to help find Scout and he really needs to public’s help getting the word out.
